Where We Are
In conjunction with increased production ability, we introduce to you our new endeavor, 'The Ife Project.'
Ife -- the Yoruba word for 'Love,' and with ties close to my familial roots, seemed to be the perfect name for this community driven initiative. 'The Ife Project' aims to bridge the gap in essential body care, undergarment, and toiletry needs for all genders and age ranges, starting in Ithaca, NY.
What’s Included
We achieve this by providing these donations to key local pantries, shelters, and community donation {'Blue'} boxes. We are starting with organic tampons, pads, liners, and bar soaps in resealable pouches, but plan to grow to include items such as diapers, menstrual cups, lotions, adult incontinence underwear, menstrual underwear, etc. Items will be packaged in organic cotton pouch kits, and/or our signature luxe packaging, to assist with any insecurities related to menstrual stigma.
In relation to the underwear, AD is starting with a simple soft bra and full panty. Colors will be of natural dyes that coincide with available botanicals and restaurant waste such as onion skins, avocado pits, coffee grinds, etc. We plan to grow to include adult and kid size tank tops, tee shirts, boxers, briefs, boxer briefs, baby onesies, socks, etc.
Items can be purchased for self, or direct donation to be distributed to the various drop points. Upon the successful conclusion of the kickstarter, partial proceeds from select items sold will be used to wholesale purchase toiletries, as well as aid in production of basic undergarments to be donated. This will continue on the website with a wider range of products.
